Dr. Kobluk graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatchewan, Canada in 1978, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Science as well as his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Kobluk performed him internship at Cornell and then practiced for 5 years. Dr. Kobluk completed his residency at Ontario Vet College and then moved to the Twin Cities area and became a U of M faculty member for 10 years. He received his board certification in both large and small animal surgery at the U of Minnesota.
In 1995 he and his family moved to California where, until 2001, he was a part of the administration at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, CA where he helped to develop the veterinary school there and worked as a full time professor.
Dr. Kobluk and his family moved back to minnesota in 2003. Since moving back to Minnesota he has continued to build upon his professional interests and knowledge. He became TPLO certified in 2003, joined the Affiliated Emergency Veterinary Servicce in 2004, and he has had articles published in JAVMA, a prominent veterinary journal. He works as an ambulatory surgeon and specializes in emergency medicine, orthopedics and some equine medicine.
Dr. Kobluk’s family is comprised of his wife, who is also a veterinarian, and 7 children. They have a large horse operation and are very active in 4H and horse shows. He has also been a hockey coach for many years, coaching over 20 teams!
