We had another interesting case at the clinic recently.
Roxy was outside in the yard when she stepped on a board that was hidden under the snow. A nail in the board got stuck in her back leg, right above her paw pad. Her dad brought her in right away to be seen. We sedated Roxy, clipped the area, pulled the nail out and flushed and cleaned the area well. Luckily for Roxy, the nail wasn’t very deep in her skin and she will make a full recovery. She is one tough girl!
