Case study

By February 28, 2017 Uncategorized

Meet Pearl, a 6 year old Old English Bulldog! Pearl started limping occasionally on her right rear leg around Christmas time. She came to see Dr. Peterson a few weeks ago for an exam to determine why she was limping. Pearl was very painful when Dr. Peterson palpated and extended her hips so x-rays were taken. The x-rays showed some arthritic changes in both of her hip joints with the right hip showing more degenerative changes. Dr. Peterson gave her a full body chiropractic and acupuncture treatment focusing mainly on the hips, hind legs and spine. She also received an injection of Adequan, which inhibits enzymes that break down cartilage so joint damage is reduced.

Pearl returned last week for a maintenance chiropractic and acupuncture treatment. Her mom was so excited to let us know Pearl has been doing great since her first treatment. She is still receiving a weekly Adequan injection for the osteoarthritis in her hips, but she’s not on any other medications. We are so happy Pearl is not limping anymore and she’s able to go on walks without experiencing any pain!
